Acceptable Use and Anti-Spam Policy

1. About this policy

This policy sets the rules for the email and other messages organisers send through Eventeru. It is published by Almirall Events S.L., the company that operates Eventeru, and it applies to every organiser, team member and API user who sends messages from an Eventeru account.

Transactional messages the platform sends on your behalf, such as order confirmations, tickets and event updates, are covered by it too. Sections 2 to 5 apply in particular to marketing messages, such as newsletters and announcements sent to a subscriber list.

If you are unsure whether a message or a list is permitted, contact us before sending it.

2. Who you may email

You may send messages only to people who have a relationship with you that makes the message expected:

  • people who registered for, bought a ticket to, or were invited to one of your events, about that event;
  • people who opted in to hear from you, for example by subscribing to your newsletter or ticking a marketing consent box at checkout;
  • newsletter subscribers who confirmed their subscription through the confirmation email we send (double opt-in) before you send them marketing.

Consent covers what the person agreed to and nothing wider. A ticket to one event is not permission to market every other event you run unless the person agreed to that.

3. Lists you may not use

You may not upload, import or send to:

  • purchased, rented or leased lists;
  • lists scraped or harvested from websites, social networks, directories or public sources;
  • lists shared with you by another organisation, including a partner, sponsor or previous employer;
  • addresses generated by guessing, or role addresses (such as info@ or sales@) for which no one has given consent;
  • anyone you have no lawful basis to contact.

4. Importing a list

You may import your own existing contacts, for example subscribers from a platform you used before. When you do:

  • you must have a documented lawful basis for every contact on the list, such as the consent the person gave you, and be able to show it to us on request;
  • you must declare the source of the list and the basis for contacting it in the import form, truthfully;
  • you must remove anyone who unsubscribed from you, or whose address bounced, anywhere else before you import.

An import is a statement by you that the list meets these rules. We may pause or refuse an import, or ask for evidence, before any message is sent to it.

5. Unsubscribes and bounces

Every marketing message sent through Eventeru carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honour it across the platform. You must not remove, hide or disable it.

  • You must honour every unsubscribe request, including one sent to you directly by reply or in person, without delay.
  • You must never re-add, re-import or re-subscribe an address that unsubscribed, unless that person subscribes again themselves.
  • You must never re-add or re-import an address that bounced permanently or reported your mail as spam.

6. Honest sender identity

Your messages must identify who they are from:

  • the sender name and address must identify you or your organisation accurately;
  • subject lines must reflect the content of the message and must not mislead;
  • you must not forge, alter or hide headers, the sending domain or the origin of a message;
  • if you connect your own sending domain, you must own it or be authorised to send from it.

7. Prohibited content

You may not send messages that contain or link to:

  • phishing, or anything designed to collect passwords, payment details or other credentials under false pretences;
  • malware, or content designed to harm a recipient’s device or browser;
  • anything illegal, or that promotes or facilitates breaking the law;
  • harassment, threats, hate or content that incites violence against a person or group;
  • content that infringes anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights.

The content rules in the Acceptable use section of our Terms of Service also apply to every message.

8. How we monitor and enforce this policy

We monitor delivery signals for every sending account, including bounce rates, spam complaint rates and unsubscribe rates, and we review reports we receive. We do not publish the thresholds we act on.

If an account puts recipients or other users’ mail at risk, we may, in proportion to the problem and without notice where the risk is urgent:

  • throttle or pause sending from the account;
  • pause or refuse a list import, or ask for evidence of consent;
  • suspend the account’s ability to send messages;
  • suspend or terminate the account under the Suspension and termination section of the Terms of Service.

We tell you what we did and why, unless the law or the safety of others prevents it, and you can reply to contest it.

9. Reporting abuse

If you received a message sent through Eventeru that you believe breaks this policy, forward it to support@eventeru.com with a short note. Where possible, include the full message: its headers identify the sending account. We review every report.

For anything else about this policy, write to connect@eventeru.com.
